COMMUNICATION
The consultation is vitally important to your success with a personal trainer. This is the key to unlocking the essential information required to plan the initial and ongoing sessions. The sessions include assessing your initial fitness level and health status, agreeing personal goals and discussing expectations from both perspectives (your expectations of your trainer and the trainers expectations of you).
What motivates you, drawing a time line, circadian rhythmns, posture analysis, contract agreement, nutrition goals, health targets, fluid intake and recover, barriers to exercise adherence and of course, when you would like to begin.

If you never take the first step, if you never take action, you are still going to be the same distance from your destination, a month, a year, even two years down the line... has it really been that long!
Unfortunately this is the situation many people find themselves in. You cannot justify a decision if you do not feel enough pain towards the situation you find yourself in, if it causes you displeasure only sometimes, or it may be you have delayed it for so long, 'A few more days, weeks, months or even a year dosen't seem like it will make will make any difference'.
"Our limitations and success will be based, most often, on our own expectations for ourselves. What the mind dwells upon, the body acts upon" - Dennis Waitley, American motivational Speaker
Not doing anything is easy, doing a little bit now and again may make you feel better, but it will not get you results. If you are overweight, suffer from a sore back or wake up in the morning and don't open your eyes until you have had a cigarette or a cup of coffee as your body is addicted to the chemicals you feel you need
to give you more energy.
Change your attitude and your mind set about exercise and healthy eating and you will change all aspects of your life. I understand the frustration of being inconsistent with exercise and not getting the results you really desire, other aspects of your life take over and become more of a priority than your health. You get to the point where you may feel there is no point in going to the gym, or going for a run, because only going now and again will not get you any results. Whilst this is correct, you need to maintain that desire to exercise and feel displeasure about your health and fitness. Whilst im not suggesting you should be unhappy about your health, i am suggesting you do not accept the fact your health is not what you would like it to be and say 'i will get back at some point when i'm less busy'. What you need to do is develop an exercise and health regime that you can complete whether you are restricted for time or have other commitments.
"Criticism is something we can avoid easily by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing" - Aristotle, philosopher of ancient Greece
